When there is a short circuit by the load, regulators allow the large currents to flow. The only shortcoming of simple series regulators is that they cannot respond to these changes immediately. However, this problem does not exist in those with complex structures. Known as shunt sensing series regulators, these regulators respond instantly to even small changes.
In short, the regulator system balances the voltage fluctuations caused by changes in the network voltage or load impedance and makes them acceptable.
